Investment Strategy
BOC’s approach is centered on maximizing opportunities within the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Given the diversity of industries active in both countries and concentration in terms of company size, BOC is committed to the low/middle market, taking controlling stakes with equity investments of between €5 and 30 million; co-investment on larger transactions is also possible. Rather than limiting ourselves to particular industries, we choose instead to work with companies which demonstrate the capability to be leaders in either domestic or international markets.
Domestic
The evolution of the Czech and Slovak economies brings with it the opportunity for companies to become domestic leaders in traditionally underserved industries. The last 20 years have played witness to segments of the economy spurred by macro changes, fostering growth to levels found in Western European countries. For businesses competing in these industries, the difference between market leadership and failure is often a well-timed infusion of capital; we seek to identify and fund companies on the cusp of such expansion.
International
BOC is proud to stand alongside Czech and Slovak champions, businesses with products and services already successfully being sold beyond our borders. Providing these companies with additional strategic vision, capital necessary to expand their sales networks, complete foreign acquisitions and attract additional managerial talent can open up new opportunities for companies which have already demonstrated the ability to succeed in foreign markets.
