The first own specialty body care retailer launched in Central Europe, Body Basics entered the Czech market in 1995, offering a wide range of personal care products aimed at the mid-range consumer sector. BOC took a 40% stake in the company in 2003 and exited to an individual investor in 2007.

In January 2005, BOC acquired a 49% stake in Zoznam, Slovakia’s leading internet portal. Offering unique content, auction mini-sites, games and Slovakia’s largest online business directory, Zoznam attracts more than 60% of Slovakia’s internet-using population to its site. BOC exited the investment in August 2005 to Slovak Telecom.

Established in 1991, Herbacos-Bofarma is the third largest producer of over-the-counter (non-prescription) generic pharmaceuticals in the Czech Republic. BOC acquired a majority stake in Herbacos-Bofarma in 2007 via its acquisition of Bochemie, exiting two years later to Italian pharmaceuticals concern Recordati.

Plastkov Group is the largest Tier 2/Tier 1 plastic injection molding automotive components manufacturer in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. BOC acquired 100% of the company in 2007 as part of its buyout of ETA/Plastkov, separated the two businesses and then supplemented Plastkov’s operations with the acquisition of BTV Plast in December 2008. Plastkov was sold in February 2010 to Megatech, a leading supplier of plastic components for the interior and exterior of passenger cars.
